A Few Cards

I have made a few cards during my time off of work.  I wanted to get some V-day cards done so that I would not be scrambling right before to get them completed.  I used Create a Critter and cut the lady bug at 3 1/2 and I also cut the phrase at 3 1/2.  I thought they turned out pretty cute.  Create a Critter is one of my favorites.

I made a birthday card which I cased from one of the blogs I have been following, Paper punch addition.  I love her blog.  She can do anything with punches.  I used Stampin Up's owl punch, scallop punch, and modern label punch to complete the card.  I felt pretty good with how it turned out.

Thoughts and Prayers

I made a couple of sympathy cards tonight.  One of the ladies I work with lost her mother last week and I was unable to make it to the funeral home because of the snow :(.  I also wanted to send one to a couple that attends my church who was in a car wreck last weekend and the driver in the other car died.  I used the Thoughts and Prayers set from Stampin Up (one of my favorites).  The cards are 6 and a half by 5 and the black mat is 6 and a quarter by 4 and 3/4.  I like the black and white.  I also used my IRock for the first time putting a little bling on the front.  It took me a few minutes to figure it out, but I think it will be a tool that I use a lot!!

Snow Days

We have now been home for four days straight.  We did venture out today and made it to church.  What a blessing to belong to such a wonderful church and to belong to such a wonderful God!  I have a few projects that I have completed over the long weekend so I thought I would share.  The first pictures are ones of my two daughters and a friend making a paper bag mini book.  They seemed to have great fun making them.

Snow Days

We have been stuck in the house for four days now because of snow.  I shouldn't say stuck because I really enjoy staying home, I just wish I would have made more things.  I have made a punch art birthday card and some Valentine cards from create a critter.  I love, love, love that cartridge!  I will post pictures of them later on.

New Craft Room

I mentioned in an earlier post that I was getting new craft room built.  It is not acutally completly finished (still needs curtains, touch up on paint, and coverings for my shelves), but I have moved my supplies in.  I am in love with my new room!!  It is right off of the family room so I don't feel like I am away from my family like before when I had all of my things downstairs.  I want to decorate it with really cute things that I make.  More pictures to come!!!

Valentine Cards

Been working on a few Valentine's to give to my students.  I cut these out with my cricut using some of the SVG files from Scrapbook Chick.  I really like their designs and they usually always have some kind of sale going so the files are reasonable.
The first card is actually a punch art card that I cased from another SU demo.  It was really easy to make.  We all of these snow days, I should be getting a lot more done than I have been!

Valentine Wreath

I have been wanting to make a wreath to put on my door at school.  I found a tutorial somewhere on line and came up with this.  The wreath is not complete because I ran out of cupcake liners.  I bought a floral ring at the Dollar Tree and covered it in ribbon.  Then I glued cupcake liners all over the front.  I still need to do the side when I am able to get out and get more liners.  I cut out felt flowers with the Big Shot and put them together with a large brad and hot glued it to the front.  I then attached ribbon to the back.  Hopefully I will be able to finish it up this week.

Sympathy Cards

I had a few people that I wanted to send a sympathy card to so I had to look for inspiration before I came up with something. Mary from CARDZ TV is one of my favorite places for inspiration. I would like to meet her sometime because she lives close to Lexington. I would love to see what here scrapbooking room looks like! I have finally moved into my new scrapbooking room although it is not completely finished. It still has to have electricity run to it and I need to figure out what kind of window coverings I would like to put up. I will post a few pictures later.

The cards I made today are 6.5 by 5 and I used Stampin Up's Thoughts and Prayers set. I really like this set and need to make up a few sets of cards using it.

Happy New Year

We celebrated the new year with making different activities throughout the evening. David was at work but the kids and I and Abby started our evening by eating Dominoes Pizza and of course we had to have dessert too so I made a graham cracker pudding cake (YUM, YUM). Anyway we made a New Years Banner, noise makers, and at midnight we went outside (it had quit raining by this time) and let off boppers. It seemed like a good idea at the time to stay up for the new year, however, this morning I am a little draggy! Hopefully good memories will be made in the year 2011!
